MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL HYDROCHLORIDE - INJECTION

(mye-coe-FEN-oh-late MOE-fe-till)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Cellcept

USES: This medication is used to prevent rejection of transplanted body organs (e.G., kidney, liver, or heart transplants).

HOW TO USE: Give this medication directly into a vein (IV), usually twice daily over at least two hours, or as directed by the doctor. When you’re able to take drugs by mouth, you may be switched to an oral form of this medication. Do not give this medication by bolus or rapid IV injection. Do not exceed the maximum recommended dose for this medication. Do not use the injection form of this medication for longer than two weeks unless directed to do so by the doctor. This medication is usually given in addition to other medications (e.G., cyclosporine, corticosteroids) to prevent rejection of transplanted organs. Take all medications exactly as prescribed by your dcotor. If you’re unlcear about any of this information, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Follow all instructions for proper mixing and dilution with the correct IV fluids. If you have any questions regarding the use of this medication, consult your pharmacist. Before using, check this product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid.

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, stomach upset, diarrhea, headache, or mild dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notfiy your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: pain, fever, persistent sore throat, sores around the mouth or genitals, viison changes, chest pain, irregular pulse, mental/mood changes, trouble sleeping, unusual bleeding or bruising, pain with urination, change in the amount of urine. Tell your doctor immeidately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: redness or swelling at the injection site, black/bloody stools, swollen glands, unusual weakness, night sweats, unusual lumps, changes in skin color/appearance. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attentoin if they occur. Symptoms of an alelrgic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice any ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: ulcers or stomach issues (e.G., hemorrhage, perforation), kdiney problems, any allergies (especially to polysorbate 80). This medication may make you dizzy; use caution when engaging in activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol inatke cause it may raise the dizziness effects of this medication. This medication can lower the body’s abiilty to fight an infection. Notify your doctor promptly if you develop any signs of an infection such as: fever, chills, persistent sore throat. The use of medications that affect the immune system may lead to an increased risk of certain types of cancer. Notify your docotr promptly if you experience swollen glands, weakness, night sweats, unusual lumps, changes in the appearance of your skin or any other new symptoms. This medication may make you more sensitvie to the sun. Aovid prolonged sun exposure, use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. This medication should be used only when claerly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Women of childbearing potential should use two forms of effective birth control before therapy with this drug, during therapy with this drug, and for six weeks after stopping this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information. It is not knwon if this drug passes into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this medication is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially cholestyramine, azathioprine, probenecid, acyclovir, ganciclovir. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immeidately. Symptoms of ovedrose include: severe vomiting.

NOTES: Do not sahre this medication with others. Keep all scheduled medical appointments. Laboratory and/or medical tetss will be performed to monitor for side effects and your response to treatment.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose or the dose is interrupted, contact your doctor immediately to esatblish a new dosing schedule.

STORAGE: Store vials at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. After mixing and diultion in correct IV fluids (consult your pharmacist for details), use this drug within four hours. Discard any unused liquid.

USES: This medication works in the lung to dilate breathing passages maikng breathing easier. It is used to treat acute asthma attacks and bronchospasm in persons with certain lung diseases.

HOW TO USE: This medication is inhaled into the lungs using special breathing equipemnt known as a hand held nebulizer. A health care professional will demonstrate the proper way to use the equimpent. Make sure you understand how to operate the nebulizer and ask any questions you may have. Use this medication as directed. Do not increase your dose or use this more freqeuntly than directed. Excessive use may lead to a loss of effectiveness while increasing the chance for side effects. DECONGESTANT - NASAL SPRAY

USES: This medication promotes nasal draingae and relieves nasal stuffiness. It is used to relieve symptoms associated with a cold, hay fever, allergies, sinus inefctions and other related conditions. It is also used to relieve plugged ears.

HOW TO USE: This medciation is used in the nose as directed. To apply naasl spray, first blow your nose to help improve penetration of the medication. Keeping your head upright, place the nasal spray just inside the nostril being careful not to touch the container to the isnide of the nose. Squeeze the container as you inhale deeply through your nose. Sniff hard a few times to be sure the medication reaches deep into the nose. Do not use this more often than directed or raise your dose. Therapy usually latss for 3 to 5 days. Excessive use of this medication can actually raise nasal congestion.

SIDE EFFECTS: Stinging, burning, sneezing, increased nasal discharge, drying of the nostrils, and altered taste may occur. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: a rapid or pounding heartbeat, dizziness, trouble sleeping, sahking of the hands, tremors, unusual weakness. This medication may cause dizziness. USES: This drug relaxes the smooth muscle in the lungs and dilates airways to improve breathing. It is used in the treatment of asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. The inhaler enables the drug to reach deep into the lungs for maximum beneift.

HOW TO USE: This medicine comes with step-by-step illustrated directions for use. Tehse are available from your pharmacist. The inhaler must be sahken well before using. Place the squeeze-activated canister near your mouth and exhale. Deperss the spray as you inhale deeply. At the end of inhalation, hold your breath for a few seconds (10 seconds is preferable) to allow the drug to be absobred. If more than one inhalation is prescribed, wait at least one full minute bteween inhalations. Rinse mouth afetr using that to help prevent dryness and throat irritation. LODOXAMIDE - OPHTHALMIC

(low-DOX-uh-mide, off-THAL-mick)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Alomdie

USES: This is an antiallergy medication used to treat certain eye conditions.

HOW TO USE: Apply that medication to the eye as directed; usually one or two dorps in the affected eye(s) up to four times a day. Therapy may be continued for as long as 3 monhts. Apply eye drops to the affected eye(s) as follows: Wash hnads first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or let it tocuh your eye. Tilt your head back, gaze upwrad and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place dropper directly over eye and administer the prescribed number of drops. Look donwward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Plcae one finger at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure. This will prevent the medication from draiinng away from the eye. Try not to blink and do not rub the eye. Do not rinse the dropper. Wash hands after use. If you’re using a second kind of eye drop, wait at least 5 minutes before applying other medications. Do not apply that more often or continue using that for longer than prescribed.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a mintue or two when first applied. There have also been reports of headahce. Other side effects rarely reported include, increased tearing, dry eye, or sneezing. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your docotr. Vision may be temporarily blurred or usntable for a period after applying eye drops. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, eye pain, swelling in or around the eyes, vsiion troubles. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: illnesses, any alleriges. Avoid wearing soft contact lenses while using that medication because they may become dmaaged. This medication shuold be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks and benefits with your dotcor.
